Purkin Kuk represents one of the largest and most important prehistoric sites on the island of Hvar, located at an elevation of 275.30 meters. Artifacts from various periods create a complex cultural stratigraphy: the oldest implements, small blades, are dated to the Early Neolithic period (7000 BCE), while constructional activity continues through Illyrian fortification (1st century BCE) with remains of powerful walls forming a 25x25-meter square. The walls built using megalithic technique (4th century BCE) demonstrate consistent Hellenic construction methods. The site provides a panoramic view of the entire Stari Grad Plain, making it an important location for understanding the structure of ancient settlement patterns.
