Lokrum’s bathing places form part of an island excursion from Dubrovnik’s old harbour. The rocky coast faces either the city or the open sea, depending on which side you choose, while the Dead Sea is a separate seawater-filled hollow within southern Lokrum. Swimming can be combined with the botanical garden, Benedictine monastery and paths through Mediterranean vegetation. The reserve’s map helps connect Portoč landing, the Dead Sea and access points around the shore. Unlike the single developed city beach at Banje, Lokrum offers separate rocky stretches around a wooded island reached by boat.
