Danče Beach

Danče lies west of Dubrovnik’s old centre, below Gradac and the convent of St Mary. Rocks and constructed sunbathing surfaces meet the open sea here, rather than a broad shingle shore. The bathing place is closely linked with local swimming and water polo: it hosted the start and finish of the eighteenth Danče swimming marathon on 1 August 2026. The approach from Pile runs towards Don Frana Bulića Street and the descent to the shore. Its exposed, rocky setting is central to the experience, with open-water views and the convent above distinguishing Danče from Banje beneath Ploče.
