The Church of St. Jerome is part of a unique Augustinian complex whose core dates to around 1368, making it a significant example of Gothic architecture in medieval Rijeka. It dominates the entrance with a late Baroque façade that defines the eastern part of the Municipium, appearing as an effective architectural whole. Within the church complex are two Gothic chapels of special value — the Chapel of the Holy Trinity with exceptionally valuable wall paintings from the mid-15th century, and the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception. The church serves as a mausoleum with tombs of significant figures throughout history, including members of the Devin-Walsee family and Dominican order which has administered the church since 1951.
