Known locally as Vela crkva, the Church of the Assumption stands on the remains of Roman thermal baths and originated as an early medieval structure. The three-nave basilica underwent significant renovation in 1442 under Master Juraj from Zadar and again in 1695. Its most distinctive feature is the leaning Gothic bell tower, erected in the 14th century and set apart from the main church building. The interior contains eleven altars adorned with marble work by Baroque sculptors and features a 1640 painting by local artist Ivan Franjo Gladić depicting the Delivery of Keys to Saint Peter. Both the church and bell tower are registered as cultural heritage sites of the Republic of Croatia.
