Pula Cathedral stands on Kandlerova Street, between the Forum and the northern part of the historic centre. Behind its façade is a three-aisled interior divided by columns, shaped by successive alterations to an older church complex. Surviving fragments of early Christian floor mosaics are among its important historic features, connecting the cathedral with a city much older than today's streetscape. The separate bell tower gives this stretch of Kandlerova a recognisable outline. Unlike the Arena, the cathedral represents the religious continuation of Pula's ancient history rather than its public spectacles. A walk around this part of the centre can link the church with the Forum and the climb towards the Franciscan monastery.
