Pomer occupies the deepest northwestern corner of Medulin Bay, between Medulin, Banjole and Premantura. Once associated with shellfish cultivation, it is now a small boating village centred on ACI Marina Pomer, comprehensively rebuilt in 2016. Much older layers survive behind the waterfront: the Romanesque cemetery church of Saint Florus contains three phases of wall painting, the parish church of the Visitation dates from the 14th century, and Cape Munat preserves evidence of a Roman maritime villa with mosaic flooring and an underwater landing place. Swimming options include Pomer’s rocky and pebble shore and nearby Šćuza, a pebble beach with loungers, parasols, water sports and a beach bar. Pula’s bus line 28 serves the village, while the Big Blue cycling route passes through Pomer on its circuit linking Vinkuran, Pješčana Uvala, Premantura and Cape Kamenjak. Local dining still draws on Pomer’s fishing and shellfish heritage, making the marina, small historic churches and the southern Istrian coast natural parts of the same stay.
Pomer is a fishing and boating village at the deepest point of Medulin Bay. Fishing, shellfish cultivation, vineyards, olives and vegetable growing traditionally supported its residents, while the marina and tourism now define much of the waterfront. Pomerski and Premanturski Školjić lie within the sheltered inner bay, behind the chain of islets farther south. Despite Pula’s proximity and summer traffic bound for Cape Kamenjak, Pomer’s centre remains compact: the village square, churches, houses and road to the marina can all be connected on a short walk.

Begin in the old village with the 14th-century parish church of the Visitation, then seek out the cemetery church of Saint Florus and its three layers of frescoes. Continue downhill through ACI Marina Pomer, where a landscaped promenade and benches follow the berths. Spend the afternoon on Šćuza’s pebble shore or hire water-sports equipment there. More active visitors can join the Big Blue cycling route toward Vinkuran and Premantura, extending the ride through the protected landscape of Lower Kamenjak.
Visitor information for Pomer is provided through the Medulin Riviera office at Kamik 27 in Banjole, while the official local guide lists shops, a bakery, restaurants and sports services within the village. ACI Marina Pomer remains open throughout the year and provides toilets, an accessible bathroom, laundry, ATM, free Wi-Fi, boat maintenance and a seasonal grocery shop. The marina identifies the nearest marine fuel station as 11 nautical miles away. Croatia’s unified emergency number is 112.
ACI Marina Pomer has its own car park and automated, guarded road entrances, but this is primarily a marina facility rather than a general free car park for the whole village. It is convenient for berth holders and visitors using the marina’s maintenance, restaurant and other services. Official 2026 information does not identify a unified public parking zone or hourly tariff for central Pomer. Visitors heading to Šćuza, the old village or the campsite should therefore follow the signs and rules posted at the relevant facility.
Pulapromet’s suburban route 28 links Pula with Pomer through the settlements of southern Istria, with variants serving Pješčana Uvala, Vinkuran, Banjole and Premantura. Some 28b departures were temporarily rerouted because of roadworks in September 2026, so the operator’s current notice should be checked before travel. Drivers approach via the road network toward Medulin and Premantura. Sailors should enter Medulin Bay through the principal channel east of Fenera and then between Ceja and Bodulaš because of the surrounding reefs and shallows.
Pulapromet route 28 links Pomer with Pula and, depending on the service variant, Banjole, Premantura, Vinkuran and Pješčana Uvala.
Šćuza is a pebble beach near Pomer with loungers, parasols, water-sports equipment and a nearby beach bar.
The cemetery church of Saint Florus preserves three layers of frescoes, ranging from the Romanesque period to the late 15th century.
ACI Marina Pomer is open year-round and provides parking, maintenance, toilets, laundry, a restaurant and free Wi-Fi.
