Verudica Lighthouse was built in 1877 on Cape Verudica, opposite Veruda Island on the southern side of Pula. It comprises an eight-metre square stone tower and a single-storey lighthouse building with an enclosed yard. Plovput lists it as an unmanned lighthouse, number 124, so it remains part of the active maritime-safety network. The building is now surrounded by woodland and the coast of the Punta Verudela resort area, and can be viewed from the promenade around the cape. The sea immediately below the lighthouse becomes especially rough during southerly winds, so swimmers should follow the posted safety notices.
