Oštri Rat Lighthouse stands on the Puntamika headland a few kilometres northwest of Zadar’s peninsula. Its role is tied to safe navigation along the city’s coastal waters, while the low promontory provides broad views towards the sea, islands and the distant old town. Puntamika is now an urban recreation area with waterfront paths and bathing spots, so the lighthouse works best as a destination for a walk or bicycle ride from central Zadar. The structure is not a conventional visitor attraction with an exhibition inside; the main reasons to come are the maritime setting, photography and the open western horizon at sunset.
