The wreck beside Krava rock, east of Vis, is an underwater archaeological site radiocarbon-dated to the 5th century BCE. Investigations have revealed remarkably preserved wooden hull elements, human remains, and objects and coins associated with the crew, passengers or cargo. Recent finds include black-glazed ceramic vessels, a possible lead ingot and fragments of a vessel used for topping up oil. The hull shows mortise-and-tenon joinery, a significant shipbuilding technique. After the 2025 research campaign, the wooden remains were protected with geotextile pending further work. This is not a site for independent collecting; it is a protected location for professionally managed research and diving.
