The Church of St. John of Nepomuk and St. Roch on Metković's municipal cemetery was built between February and June 1858 as a vow by local residents for protection against cholera that devastated the area in the mid-19th century. Located on Predolac Hill where burials began in 1855, it was constructed from stone excavated from Illyrian mounds found there. The church measures 11.30 meters long and 5.80 meters wide. Due to its strategic hilltop position, the cemetery served as a military stronghold during various conflicts, including World War II and the Homeland War.
