Saint Francis of Assisi church

The Church of St. Francis of Assisi in Klada was built between 1979 and 1982 according to architect Vinko Galić's design from Mostar and was blessed on August 22, 1982. This modern concrete church covers 250 square meters and was constructed due to rapid urban growth in Metković during the late 1970s and city expansion into the Klada area, as the existing St. Elijah parish church became insufficient. The church contains artworks including sculptures by Josip Marinović and Krune Bošnjak, Stations of the Cross by Vatroslav Kuliš, a triptych depicting the Risen Christ by fra Ante Branko Periša, and stained glass windows by Hieronymus Tišljar.
