Mundanije

Mundanije occupies the green interior of Rab and is the island’s only settlement without direct access to the sea. This gives it a different pace from Rab town, Lopar and the coastal villages: houses, gardens and local roads spread between the island’s hills, while several shores are only a short drive away. The Rab tourist board compares its landscape to Italy’s Umbria, highlighting the settlement’s rural character. Mundanije also makes a practical base for exploring because roads lead towards Rab town, Supetarska Draga, Lopar and the slopes below Kamenjak. Swimming requires choosing a particular coast: Suha Punta offers wooded trails with rocky and pebble coves, whereas Lopar is known for sandy beaches and shallow water. There is no waterfront or village beach in Mundanije, so days naturally divide between the quiet inland setting and outings by car or bicycle. Rab can be reached by car ferry through Mišnjak or by the passenger catamaran from Rijeka to Rab town.
