Kornić occupies rising ground above Punat Bay, about three kilometres from Punat and eight kilometres from Krk Town. Its village centre is not directly on the waterfront: the shore at Dunat lies roughly 700 metres away, combining a quieter inland base with easy access to swimming and water sports. Sheep farming and olive growing form part of Kornić’s traditional identity, while today’s visitor economy centres on apartments, holiday homes and the settlement’s position between Krk and Punat. Near the coastal crossroads stands St Dunat’s Church, an unusual domed building with a cross-shaped plan; the Krk Island Tourist Board dates it to the twelfth century. The waterfront includes pebble beach Dunat, Galapagos beach facing the islet of Košljun and Cable Krk for wakeboarding and water-skiing. Dunat provides showers, diving instruction, pedal boats and children’s facilities, whereas Galapagos welcomes visitors with dogs. Kornić consequently works well for travellers who want to alternate between a village setting, beaches, water activities, Punat and the historic centre of Krk Town.
Kornić sits above Punat Bay, with a short descent separating the village from the Dunat waterfront. Its location between Punat and Krk Town gives it a pace distinct from both larger neighbours: houses and apartment accommodation dominate Kornić, while marinas, town promenades and major historic ensembles lie elsewhere. Sheep and olive farming provide the settlement’s traditional economic background. Its defining heritage landmark stands beside the sea: St Dunat’s Church has a cross-shaped plan, a dome and a strategic position at the old junction of routes towards Kornić, Krk and Punat.

Dunat combines rocky and pebble sections along Punat Bay and provides showers, children’s slides, a diving school and pedal-boat rental. A restaurant and shop in the immediate waterfront area make Dunat the more practical choice for spending several hours by the sea. Galapagos is also pebbled, but differs through its view of Košljun and its dog-friendly policy. The coast between Kornić and Krk Town additionally includes Cable Krk, allowing a beach visit to be combined with water-skiing or wakeboarding.
