Čižići is a small coastal village on the north-eastern side of Krk, facing the shallow, almost enclosed Soline Bay. Its seaside experience differs markedly from Krk’s more exposed shores: at Meline, visitors can wade a long way through knee-deep water, and the coast is known for its dark marine mud. Meline Beach lies between Čižići and Soline, combining sandy and muddy shallows with parking and a beach-volleyball court; its sensitive wetland also serves as an important wintering area for waterbirds. Closer to the village houses, Čižići’s local bathing area provides easier access for a short family swim and nearby services. The best-known excursion in the immediate area is Biserujka Cave near Rudine, while the road around the bay links Čižići with Soline and Klimno. The village belongs to Dobrinj Municipality, so Dobrinj and Šilo supplement its limited cultural and practical facilities. Roads connect Čižići with the rest of Krk and the mainland via Krk Bridge; a car or bicycle is particularly useful for combining the bay, Biserujka and nearby villages.
Čižići occupies the northern edge of Soline Bay, opposite the village of Soline and close to Klimno. Shallow water and a muddy-sandy seabed shape the shoreline, giving the village a very different character from Krk resorts facing deep, open sea. Its small harbour provides access to the bay and the Vinodol Channel, while houses follow the coastal road above the bathing areas. The landscape is not solely recreational: the wetland around Meline is ecologically sensitive and important to wintering waterbirds. Administratively part of Dobrinj Municipality, Čižići forms a natural circuit around the same bay with the neighbouring settlements of Soline and Klimno.

Čižići’s defining natural sight is Soline Bay itself, whose shallow, muddy section around Meline forms a landscape unlike Krk’s rocky outer shores. Visitors come to Meline for its marine mud, yet the area also has ecological value as winter habitat for waterbirds. The leading inland attraction is Biserujka Cave near Rudine, consistently presented in local tourism material as the principal excursion from the bay. For a broader cultural setting, continue to the historic settlement of Dobrinj, the municipality’s administrative centre. Čižići’s harbour and waterfront look across the enclosed bay towards Soline, while Klimno occupies its north-eastern side.
Meline is the most distinctive beach near Čižići, with sandy and muddy ground and water that remains extremely shallow; even around 100 metres from shore, it may reach only approximately knee height. Parking is available nearby, and the listed facilities include a beach-volleyball court. Closer to the houses, Čižići Beach is convenient for its immediate access to the village’s cafés, restaurants and shop. On the southern side of the bay near Soline, Komoriška, also called Punta, is a small sandy beach. At Meline, both vehicles and pedestrians should stay out of sensitive wetland sections beyond the established access routes.

Start the morning at Čižići’s local bathing area, then follow the shore towards Meline to experience the unusually shallow sea and dark marine mud. At Meline, wading can be combined with beach volleyball, although visitors should remain on established access routes to protect the sensitive wetland vegetation. In the afternoon, drive towards Rudine and Biserujka Cave, the best-known inland attraction in the immediate area. Towards evening, explore the opposite shore of the bay through Soline and on to Klimno; this road gradually changes the perspective back towards Čižići and the bay’s shallow centre. The circuit also suits confident cyclists accustomed to narrow local roads.
