Fulfinum lies in Sepen Bay a few kilometres from Omišalj. The Roman town was founded in the second half of the 1st century AD, and excavations have revealed sections of its forum with a temple, civil basilica, tabernae and other public buildings. Nearby is Mirine, with a Late Antique cemetery and a large 5th-century Early Christian basilica preserved to nearly roof level. Much of the Roman town remains unexcavated, so the area retains the character of an archaeological landscape rather than a fully reconstructed site. It is reached by local road and on foot and is particularly rewarding for visitors interested in Roman urbanism and Early Christian heritage.
