Pineta, or Kastanija, lies on Novigrad’s western edge, where the shore descends to the sea through pines and Mediterranean vegetation. The beach comprises two coves and a changing mix of fine pebbles, stone slabs and natural rocks. Pine woodland provides shade, while a coastal promenade and cycle path link the area with Novigrad. The regional beach-management programme classifies this shore as a natural rural beach with pebble, stone and rocky sections. It is reached by a footpath or an unpaved white road; parking is available but limited. Pineta suits swimmers seeking a less urbanised coast and rocky shallows to explore.
