Zub Lighthouse was built in 1872 on the headland of the Lanterna peninsula, about 13 kilometres from both Novigrad and Poreč. The stone keeper’s building has a ground floor, an upper floor and a fenced yard; its light is now automated. A path through holm-oak woodland leads to the cape, where visitors find parking and a paved sunbathing area. Steps on the western side provide access to the sea, while a nearby platform leads towards a coastal reef, making the site appealing for snorkelling. On clear days, the headland looks towards Novigrad’s walls and the mouth of the Mirna River.
