Garagnin-Fanfogna Palace stands beside the northern entrance to Trogir’s historic core. It consists of two blocks of older Romanesque and Gothic houses that were enlarged and unified in the second half of the 18th century to a design by Ignacije Macanović. Its late-Baroque entrance hall, courtyard and historic interiors now form part of the Trogir City Museum. The complex also preserves the notable Garagnin-Fanfogna library with thousands of historic volumes. Because the palace functions as a museum, the best way to experience it is through the permanent collection, though its scale and position are already clear from the area around the North Gate.
