Cipiko Palace stands directly opposite the west front of Trogir Cathedral and belonged to one of the city’s leading noble families. Rather than being built in a single campaign, the complex developed by joining and remodelling older houses into the large and small palaces. Façades, window frames, portals and carved stone details show the Gothic and Renaissance influences characteristic of Trogir’s historic core. UNESCO singles it out among the town’s most important aristocratic residences. The best viewpoint is around the cathedral square, where the relationship between prestigious private architecture and Trogir’s main civic space is especially clear.
