The Church of St. John the Baptist is a new church built in 1714 at the expense of Kaštel Stari residents and consecrated in 1723 according to an inscription on a plaque above the western portal. Built on the foundations of an older parish church from the late 16th century, confirmed by archaeological excavations in 1990, the single-nave church features a longitudinal floor plan and rectangular apse oriented east-west. The interior showcases five Baroque altars adorned with paintings, marble and wooden sculptures, including the altar of St. Felician with a painting by Petar Bezzi from 1800 housing a marble reliquary. The church is registered as protected cultural property under designation Z-3335.
