About this place

Beljevina is one of the fourteen settlements in Đurđenovac municipality, set within the level agricultural landscape of western Osijek-Baranja County. County road Ž4073 runs directly from the village to Đurđenovac over 3.44 kilometres; at its other end it meets Ž4058, the route between Beničanci and Feričanci. This road pattern explains Beljevina’s everyday orientation toward the municipal centre while also providing a straightforward continuation to Bokšić, Feričanci and the D2 state road. The municipal spatial plan recorded a density of 71 residents per square kilometre in Beljevina using the 2001 census, noticeably above several neighbouring villages in the same municipality. A separate village cemetery is marked beside the settlement, while straight fields, drainage channels and farm tracks reveal the productive role of the surrounding land. Beljevina is therefore not a detached hamlet at the end of a lane, but a compact Slavonian village on the short connection between Đurđenovac and the municipality’s western arm. Its character emerges from roadside homes, open farmland and a close physical link to the local administrative centre.

Beljevina’s identity comes from its place within the Municipality of Đurđenovac and the western edge of Osijek-Baranja County. The settlement covers roughly 10.7 square kilometres at an elevation of about 105 metres. St Martin’s Church links the village to the Parish of St Peter the Apostle in Bokšić, with the local feast celebrated on 11 November. The football ground and the former NK Zagorac reflect the role village sport has played in Beljevina. This makes the settlement better suited to a quiet stop in the Našice hinterland and an unhurried look at local life than to a full-day tour of major monuments.

Things to do

A short visit to Beljevina can begin at St Martin’s Church, the village’s religious focal point and part of the parish based in Bokšić. From the church, continue through the settlement to the local football ground, the Beljevina sports facility specifically recorded in the Croatian state inventory for Osijek-Baranja County. A visit around 11 November coincides with the feast of St Martin, a distinctive date in the village calendar. To extend the outing, head towards Đurđenovac, the municipal centre governing Beljevina, or continue to Našice, which is connected to the village by a documented bus route.

Practical information

Getting there and around

Beljevina is linked by local roads with Đurđenovac, Bokšić, Našice and the route towards Feričanci; a car or bicycle is the most practical option for exploring the surrounding villages. Public transport to the regional centre is confirmed by Arriva’s 2026 fare document, which lists the Beljevina–Našice route. The document establishes that the connection exists, although passengers should use the operator’s current timetable because departure times can change. No railway station in Beljevina appears in the available municipal material, so rail journeys require a road connection from a larger nearby settlement.
