Vantačići is a waterfront village on the western side of Krk, within the municipality of Malinska-Dubašnica and linked by a coastal promenade to Rova, Malinska and Porat. Its small harbour frames a distinctive view across Kvarner towards Rijeka and Mount Učka, while swimming spots, short piers and patches of tree shade line the shore beside the moorings. The choice extends beyond a single beach: Vantačić combines pebbles, rocks and concrete platforms, Trstika lies towards Rova, and tiered Valica occupies the coast in the direction of Porat. This layout makes it easy to spend a day moving along the seafront without repeatedly using a car. Bistro Toni in Žubra serves island flavours including Krk šurlice pasta, lamb, curd cheese and asparagus. A longer coastal walk leads towards the Monastery of St Mary Magdalene in Porat, or eastwards into Malinska. Vantačići consequently suits travellers who want a quiet base beside the sea while keeping Malinska’s bus station, cultural venues and livelier evening scene within walking distance or a short ride.
Vantačići is defined by its harbour and long waterfront promenade rather than by a separate historic centre. Views from the harbour stretch across Kvarner towards Rijeka and Mount Učka, while piers, pebble entries and concrete terraces alternate between the moorings and houses. Towards Rova, the shore reaches the small pebble beach of Trstika; towards Porat, it develops into Valica’s tiered bathing platforms. Žubra, a street in the upper part of the village, is associated with Bistro Toni and island cooking. As Vantačići belongs to the municipality of Malinska-Dubašnica, visitors generally use nearby Malinska for the post office, larger shops, tourist information and scheduled buses.

Vantačić Beach follows the sheltered harbour and combines pebbles, concrete and rocky sections; food, drinks, showers and toilets are available, with parking roughly 50 metres inland. Trees shade part of the bathing area, while short piers appeal to swimmers who prefer jumping into deeper water. Trstika, between Vantačići and Rova, is a small pebble cove reached from the waterfront promenade and accompanied by a beach bar. Valica is arranged in tiers and has its own beach bar, a more intricate seabed for snorkelling, and advertised activities including jet skiing and jet surfing.
Begin a Vantačići morning with a swim beside the harbour, where trees provide shade and short piers give access to deeper water. Follow the seafront towards Trstika and Rova; Rova has a gently shelving entry and is also served by Malinska’s seasonal tourist road train. In the afternoon, return towards Valica, whose tiers are quieter than the central harbour and whose indented seabed rewards snorkelling. As the heat fades, continue on foot to Porat and the Monastery of St Mary Magdalene, or finish the evening with šurlice pasta and Krk lamb at Bistro Toni on Žubra.
Bistro Toni at Žubra 41 is the principal documented dining address within Vantačići itself. The Malinska Walk & Taste programme has featured dishes such as Krk šurlice with prawns and asparagus, šurlice with lamb stew, marinated Krk lamb, shellfish buzara and octopus cooked under a bell. Closer to Rova, Bistro & Beach Bar Rova offers dishes including šurlice with prawns and braised squid for two. Check menus and seasonal opening directly before visiting, as the tourist board publishes addresses and contacts but does not guarantee year-round schedules.
Visitor information for Vantačići is handled by the Malinska-Dubašnica Tourist Board, whose office and principal services are in Malinska. Vantačić Beach provides toilets, a shower, food and drinks, and access to the bathing area is free. Pets and naturism are not allowed on that designated beach; dog owners can instead use the marked pet-friendly section near Uhlić in Porat. The official Guide for You Malinska app is useful for cultural listings, trail maps and current events. Larger shops, pharmacy services and intercity bus departures are concentrated in Malinska rather than around Vantačići harbour.
Parking is documented about 50 metres from Vantačić Beach, although spaces around the small harbour are limited. In 2025, Malinska-Dubašnica Municipality reported that the former free gravel area beside the cove was privately owned and that its owner had not completed the procedure for planned paid parking in time. Trstika is served by two nearby parking areas, one by Rova and another by Vantačić Beach. As the waterfront has no large public car park, arriving early and continuing along the promenade is more practical than seeking a space beside each swimming access.
Vantačići has no separate intercity terminal, so bus passengers first travel to Malinska. Arriva describes the Rijeka–Malinska route as 45 kilometres and about one hour, with several daily departures. A seasonal tourist road train links central Malinska with Rova, after which the final stretch to Vantačići follows the coastal promenade or local road. Drivers reach Krk over the Krk Bridge, without using a ferry. Coastal walking and cycling links continue east from Vantačići to Malinska and west towards Porat.
