Firule Beach lies east of Bačvice in a naturally sheltered bay with fine sand and a shallow entry into the sea. Those conditions have traditionally made it popular with families with young children. Tennis courts above the beach are tied to Split's strong tennis tradition; notable Croatian players, including Goran Ivanišević, developed their game here. Firule can be reached on foot from the centre by following the seafront past Bačvice and Ovčice. It is a good choice for a short swim close to town, especially if you prefer a smaller bay and a neighbourhood atmosphere to a large, isolated resort-style beach.
