Žaborić is a small coastal settlement on the Adriatic Highway, ten kilometres south of Šibenik. Rather than a historic old town, it is defined by a long waterfront promenade linking bathing spots, private apartments and small campsites. Natural sandy patches alternate with pebble beaches, while olive groves and vineyards fill the hinterland; fishing remains part of the local identity alongside tourism and farming. The central shoreline suits an easy waterside walk, while Shark Beach at Put Sike 14 pairs a sandy shallows with a terrace and sun loungers. Žaborić works well as a quiet base for Šibenik but keeps its own summer calendar: the traditional Žaborić Festival is held in July in honour of St Anne. Most places to eat and stay sit close to the water, making it easy to combine swimming, a promenade walk and dinner without driving.
Žaborić forms part of the City of Šibenik and lies about ten kilometres south of the centre, beside the Adriatic Highway towards Primošten. Rather than having one compact historic core, the settlement is defined by coastal neighbourhoods and bays such as Jasenovo, Mrzla Vala and the central bathing area. Its southwest-facing shore looks towards the islands of the Šibenik archipelago. A promenade behind the main beach links apartment streets, cafés and swimming spots, allowing visitors to move between the central parts of Žaborić without driving.

Žaborić’s signature sight is its elongated shoreline: the long seafront promenade creates an evening-walk route and connects the settlement’s individual beach sections. The central beach has a pedestrian-only promenade behind it, while the northern stretch is marked by a beach-volleyball court. Shark Beach at Put Sike 14 stands out for its sandy shallows, white pergolas and waterfront terrace. Rather than forts or museums, Žaborić reveals its character through the coast itself and the olive groves and vineyards immediately inland.
Žaborić is known for natural sandy and pebble beaches. Its central beach has fine shingle, a gradual sea entry and a pedestrian promenade directly behind the shore. The northern section includes a beach-volleyball court, and several stretches offer sun-lounger and parasol hire. Shark Beach at Put Sike 14 sits on a sandy beach with shallow water, with loungers and the shade of its terrace beside it. For a change of scene, follow the seafront promenade towards the smaller bathing spots instead of staying only in the village centre.

Begin with a swim on Žaborić’s central shore, then follow the waterfront promenade on foot as it runs beside the sea. The route also serves local cyclists, so it is a practical way to continue towards quieter beach sections rather than return to the highway. For a break by a sandy shallow, stop at Shark Beach on Put Sike 14, where the beach is paired with a terrace and loungers. In July, build the traditional Žaborić Festival honouring St Anne into the day. Olive groves and vineyards immediately inland are a reminder that Žaborić is more than its waterfront apartments.
Shark Beach Bar at Put Sike 14 combines a restaurant, bar and managed bathing area directly beside the sea. Its menu features Mediterranean plates, pasta, pizza, fish and cocktails, and the official 2026 information gives a May-to-September season. The terrace is designed around lunches and sunset dinners, while loungers and cabanas make it possible to remain at the same address throughout the day. Additional cafés, pizzerias and ice-cream shops line the promenade behind Žaborić’s central beach.
Žaborić is connected to Šibenik and Primošten by the Adriatic Highway, which runs behind the coastal neighbourhoods. The local bus stop serves routes towards Šibenik, although departures and fares vary by date and should be checked against the relevant 2026 timetable. The nearest railway station with regular passenger services is in Šibenik. When visiting Šibenik’s old town, leaving the car outside the historic centre is more practical than approaching the narrow streets surrounding St James’ Cathedral.
The shore is mainly fine pebbles and concrete platforms, but the long shallows have a sandy bottom.
SUP boards and pedal boats are available for seasonal hire on the main beach.
Shark Beach Bar is at Put Sike 14 in Žaborić.
The Šibenik Tourist Board lists free parking, and the club provides a parking area close to the beach.
