The Church of St Barbara stands in Šibenik’s old town and belongs to the city’s Gothic layer from around the beginning of the fifteenth century. Above the main entrance is a niche with a statue of St Nicholas associated with Bonino da Milano, while the north wall contains a Gothic window and a 1419 votive relief depicting a Šibenik physician named Marko. The latter is especially notable as a rare medieval representation of a doctor on the eastern Adriatic. The church now houses a small ecclesiastical museum with artworks from the fourteenth to seventeenth centuries, allowing visitors to consider the architecture and collection together.
