Jadrija sits at the entrance to St Anthony’s Channel opposite Šibenik harbour and occupies a special place in the city’s bathing culture. It opened on 6 August 1922 as Šibenik’s first registered public bathing area, after the site had been connected to the mainland by an embankment. A row of distinctive colourful changing cabins along the shore became Jadrija’s visual signature. The coast combines concrete and pebble sections, with pine trees providing natural shade. It can be reached by road or by a seasonal boat connection from Šibenik. Its exposed, windy position also attracts windsurfers, giving Jadrija a character beyond that of a conventional family beach.
