Srebreno Beach runs along Župa Bay in the village of Srebreno, between Kupari and Mlini, about ten kilometres southeast of Dubrovnik. The Croatian Encyclopaedia identifies sandy beaches as a defining feature of the settlement, first recorded in 1294. Older Srebreno remains visible right by the shore: the Church of the Sacred Heart stands beside the beach, while the stone Renaissance house of the seafaring Miloslavić family almost reaches the sea. This gives the beach a different feel from a secluded cove, as swimming naturally combines with a walk through the village. Visitors can pair a beach stop with a look at Srebreno’s waterfront houses and religious heritage.
