Ploče Gate occupies Dubrovnik’s eastern approach beside the Dominican monastery and Revelin Fortress. Crossing the bridge makes the layered defence clear: outer and inner gateways protected the route towards the old harbour rather than forming one simple opening in the wall. A relief of St Blaise marks the entrance, and the Asimon tower stands beside its inner section. For a walk across the historic centre, enter here and follow the Dominican complex towards Sponza Palace and Stradun. Walking out in the opposite direction leads towards the Lazareti and Banje Beach, with views of the fortifications surrounding the old port.
