The Archaeological Museum explores the past of Dubrovnik and its surrounding region through objects recovered from archaeological sites. Its exhibition rooms in Revelin connect carved fragments, decorative motifs and building history with the fortress guarding the city’s eastern entrance. The museum’s exhibitions include Early Medieval Sculpture in Dubrovnik and its Surroundings and Flower in Stone. These objects allow visitors to examine how stoneworkers created ornament and church furnishings, expanding the view of medieval heritage beyond standing buildings alone. A visit consequently adds an archaeological dimension to the architectural walk around Revelin and neighbouring Ploče Gate.
