Patačić-Puttar Palace at 2 Zagrebačka Street was formed around 1745 near Varaždin’s former southern entrance, then beyond the town walls. It was not conceived as one building: three separate houses were united into a single-storey corner residence, with a corner oriel window accenting the upper floor. Its phased construction explains the intriguing blend of styles visible outside. The portal carries Late Baroque features, while the other side displays more pronounced Classicist elements. Within the historic core, the palace is a rewarding example of a transition between two architectural idioms and can be seen directly from the street on the approach along Zagrebačka Street.
