Erdödy-Patačić Palace on Kapucinski Square dates from the second half of the 18th century and ranks among north-western Croatia’s more harmonious examples of Theresian Baroque. This single-storey corner building has an L-shaped plan, while its central projection and richly worked stone portal lend the façade a formal presence. Count Ivan Erdödy sold it in 1810, after which it passed to the Patačić family; the municipal authority bought it in 1860 to quarter troops. Its military role lasted until 1945. Following restoration, the palace became the home of Varaždin Music School, with concert halls and teaching rooms inside.
