The parish Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary stands in Vrgorac’s old town. The present church was built from 1913 to 1921 to plans by architect Ćiro Iveković, and its façade is distinguished by a central projecting section and three portals. It replaced an older medieval church which was converted into a mosque during Ottoman rule; after Vrgorac was liberated, the building again served Catholic worship. The church is an important part of the historic ensemble of towers and former defensive walls in the town. A visit can be paired with the parish collection in the nearby Fratarska Tower.
