The tourist information centre is at Trg bana Josipa Jelačića 23 in the Pejačević Castle complex. The tourist board also publishes practical contacts for the bus and railway stations, police, firefighters and other services. The centre is easy to explore on foot, and since September 2026 city bus routes have provided another option. Museum and special-exhibition opening times should be checked before arrival, especially on weekends. If the itinerary includes Papuk, Bilogora or the fishponds, bring footwear suitable for natural paths as well as city walking.
Virovitica lies on the D2 Varaždin–Osijek and D5 Okučani–Virovitica–Terezino Polje–Barcs state roads. The tourist board gives approximate distances of 152 km to Zagreb, 120 km to Osijek and 65 km to Bjelovar. The railway station is at Stjepana Radića 102 and the bus station at Trg fra Bonifacija Gerbera 8. On 7 September 2026 the city introduced public transport with three daytime and one night route, using electric minibuses and buses. At launch, a one-hour ticket cost €1 and a day ticket €3.50.
The castle houses the Virovitica City Museum, including the “Wooden Age” exhibition and the history of the city and castle.
Yes. A system using electric buses and minibuses began operating on 7 September 2026.

The Virovitica fishponds are the closest option, while Papuk and Jankovac work well for a full-day excursion.
