Virovitica City Museum

Virovitica City Museum occupies Pejačević Castle in the town centre, on the site of a former medieval fortification. Founded in 1953 as a local-history museum, it reopened its restored castle and new permanent displays on 5 December 2019. Two complementary exhibitions anchor a visit: History of the Town and Castle follows Virovitica from prehistory to the present, while The Age of Wood explores wood through family life, work and communication. Multimedia, animations and objects make the experience accessible to families, while the castle itself supplies the historical setting. The museum is at Trg bana Josipa Jelačića 23.
