Papuk UNESCO Global Geopark covers the Papuk Nature Park, where rocks formed by igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary processes occur within a compact area. In 2007, Papuk became Croatia’s first geopark in the European and global networks, and it now holds UNESCO Global Geopark status. The Geo Info Centre in Voćin and the House of the Pannonian Sea in Velika provide useful starting points, while more than 200 kilometres of marked hiking trails lead towards geosites and viewpoints. It is especially rewarding for visitors interested in geology, walking and the forested landscapes of Slavonia.
