Vojnić is a small Kordun centre whose principal visitor sites unfold along the road towards Petrova Gora. About seven kilometres from town, Muljava provides a base for nature trails and longer hikes as well as a hunting lodge built in 1962 and comprehensively restored in 2007. The King’s Path and Roman Road trail interpret a landscape associated with King Petar Svačić and an ancient route between the Roman provinces of Pannonia and Dalmatia. The summit area of Mali Petrovac contains remains of a Pauline monastery, while the monumental memorial erected in 1981 and the hidden complex of the Central Partisan Hospital recall the Second World War. The protected landscapes of Petrova Gora and Biljeg are dominated by beech, hornbeam, sessile oak and sweet chestnut. Petrovac Ornithological Park, founded in 2008, includes a trail with nine interpretation panels and a birdwatching hide. In Vojnić itself, look for the restored Škrgić mill beside the D6 state road; the medieval strongholds of Klokoč, Krstinja and Otmić grad lie across the wider municipality.
Vojnić belongs to the Kordun region, with the D6 state road linking the settlement to Karlovac and the borderlands towards Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its visitor identity is shaped by nearby Petrova Gora and Biljeg, two protected landscapes dominated by beech, hornbeam, oak and sweet-chestnut woodland. Petrova Gora also preserves traces of a Roman route, medieval monastic ruins and Second World War memorial sites. Across the wider municipality stand the partial remains of Klokoč, Krstinja and Otmić grad, fortified settlements constructed between the 13th and 16th centuries. The restored Škrgić mill beside the D6 represents local working heritage, while the main walking and interpretation facilities begin several kilometres away at Muljava.
From Vojnić, travel seven kilometres to the Muljava hunting lodge, the most convenient base for exploring Petrova Gora. For a short walk, choose the King’s Path or Roman Road; both have interpretation panels, and the latter follows part of the ancient route between Pannonia and Dalmatia. Continue to Petrovac Ornithological Park, equipped with nine panels, a birdwatching hide and a drinking pool. A longer circuit can link the King’s Grave, the Pauline monastery ruins on Mali Petrovac, the 1981 memorial and the Central Partisan Hospital hidden in the forest. On the return to Vojnić, stop at Škrgić mill beside the D6; reserve the scattered forts of Klokoč, Krstinja and Otmić grad for a separate driving circuit.
The Muljava hunting lodge is about seven kilometres from central Vojnić, within Petrova Gora.
Founded in 2008, the park has an ornithological trail with nine panels, a birdwatching hide, a drinking pool and nesting boxes.
