Foginovo is on the Korana riverbank close to central Karlovac and is the city’s best-known river-swimming spot. It takes its name from Dragutin Fogin, its owner when local people began calling it Foginovo in 1929. Today the site includes a diving platform, sports areas, children’s facilities and places to relax by the water. The local tourist board notes that lifeguards are present and that the county public-health institute monitors water quality. In 2025, the City of Karlovac reported an excellent result for a Korana water sample; swimmers should still consult current seasonal notices.
