Saint Blaise church

The parish Church of St Blaise dominates Vodnjan and is one of Istria’s largest sacred buildings. The present church was constructed between 1760 and 1800 on the site of an older basilica, drawing inspiration from Venetian architecture. Its spacious interior preserves altars, paintings, sculpture, liturgical vessels and other works accumulated by the parish over centuries. The church is also notable for an exceptionally large collection of relics, which attracts both pilgrims and visitors interested in sacred heritage.
