About
Golubinjak lies about one kilometre east of central Lokve, below the railway station, on a plateau that continues from Lokvarsko Polje. Protected since 1955, the forest park covers roughly 53 hectares. Woodland and rock are its defining features: a lighter fir-and-spruce forest grows on stone blocks, while deeper soils support beech and fir. The rocky surfaces host a distinct plant community that includes mossy sandwort, pale corydalis and bellflowers. Its proximity to the village makes it well suited to a short family walk, observing karst formations and discovering the characteristic forest vegetation of Gorski Kotar.
