The Monastery of Saints Cosmas and Damian occupies Ćokovac hill, 95 metres above sea level and about two kilometres northwest of Tkon on Pašman. Benedictines moved here after Venice destroyed Biograd in 1124/25, settling where a chapel dedicated to the two saints already stood. The Romanesque church was later rebuilt in Gothic form: its sanctuary has a rib vault, while the main portal of 1418 bears a Madonna and Child. Inside is the painted Gothic Tkon Crucifix, and the complex preserves traces of its Glagolitic heritage, including a 1517 inscription. The climb to Ćokovac combines views over the Pašman Channel with a visit to an exceptionally valuable medieval monastic ensemble.
