Crkva Male Gospe u Tučepima

The Church of Our Lady’s Nativity stands beside Tučepi’s main cemetery and dates from 1703. The major earthquake of 1962 badly damaged the building, and it was rebuilt in cut stone over the following years on the same site. Early Christian architectural remains discovered during the works point to a much older sacred tradition here. The simple single-nave church has an apse, a rose window and a bell gable with two bells, while medieval stone slabs with carved motifs stand in front of the façade. The church is easy to combine with a walk through Tučepi and with a visit to the nearby medieval Church of St George.
