The parish church of St. Anthony of Padua in Gornji Tučepi was built between 1898 and 1901 in the neo-Romanesque style, to a design by engineer Parišić. It has a Latin-cross plan, and its facade features a large semicircular window above the portal and a statue of Christ the Redeemer at the top. The first bell tower, built of weak stone, was badly damaged by the earthquakes of 1923 and 1962 and was rebuilt between 1962 and 1965 to a design by Ante Barač. Inside are three altars, including the Marian altar moved from an older church, and the decoration is the work of the Italian Appolinario Soldati. The organ was built by the Zagreb master Heferer. A good stop for anyone interested in the church heritage of the Makarska Riviera.
