The former Pauline monastery and St Anne’s Church stand on the principal street of Križevci’s historic centre. Their foundation is linked with protonotary Ivan Zakmardi, who endowed the Paulines with property. The order developed education in the town, and its grammar school received a royal privilege in 1674. Construction of the monastic complex began in 1699, while the new church replaced a wooden chapel in 1718. It is a single-nave early-Baroque building with a rectangular sanctuary, its tower set between church and monastery. Inside, seek out the Baroque painting Saint Anne Teaching Mary and the surviving fragments of Pauline frescoes.
