St Roch Chapel belongs to Osijek’s Baroque sacred heritage and is entered in Croatia’s Register of Cultural Goods under designation Z-1661. It stands in Upper Town, the historic part of Osijek that developed beyond the fortress core. It is dedicated to St Roch, a saint widely invoked as a protector against plague during times of epidemic. On a city walk, it is best understood as a small but significant monument to 18th-century devotion and urban development, distinct from the larger chapel of the same dedication in Lower Town. It can be easily included while exploring Upper Town’s central streets.
