Osijek Zoo and Aquarium

Osijek Zoo is located in Tvrđavica on the left bank of the Drava and has operated since 1955. It now covers more than 11 hectares and keeps more than one hundred animal species. Beyond viewing animal enclosures, the zoo emphasizes education, species conservation and programmes for families and school groups. It can be reached by car, on foot or by bicycle across the city’s bridges, while a distinctive access option is the river ferry when water conditions permit operation. The City of Osijek regularly includes the zoo in municipal and visitor programmes, making it a practical half-day destination for families looking beyond the compact city centre.
