About
St John Bosco Church stands in Podsused at Vinobreška 2, beside the Salesian community entrusted with the parish, which was founded in 1942. The church itself was built in 1939 as part of a planned spiritual centre with a youth home and oratory, and was consecrated on 14 March 1965. Its exterior is a restrained rectangular building of straight lines with a bell tower; the façade carries a relief of Don Bosco among boys. Inside, the single-nave space has a large choir loft, a coffered wooden ceiling, a main altar in Brač stone and a stone baptismal font. It is especially meaningful for visitors interested in Don Bosco and the Salesian educational tradition.
