Holy Apostles church in Novigrad Podravski

The parish Church of the Farewell of the Holy Apostles stands in the centre of Novigrad Podravski. It is dedicated to an unusual feast observed on 15 July, which is also the municipality’s day. Built in 1830, it is a substantial example of Neoclassical church architecture. The building has a single rectangular nave and a narrower, elongated sanctuary ending in a semicircular apse, with a one-storey sacristy beside it. A tall bell tower rises from the south façade and defines the church’s silhouette, while Czech vaults span the interior. Pilasters divide the principal façade, whose central section projects like a risalit. It is the parish church of the Varaždin Diocese’s Virovski deanery.
