Brekinjova Kosa

Brekinjova Kosa is a multi-period archaeological site on a wooded hill near Bojna, preserving traces of life from the Copper Age to the Early Middle Ages.

About

Brekinjova Kosa stands on the western slopes of Trgovska Gora, about 15 kilometres south of Glina, between the Bojna and Sivac streams. Excavations have identified remains of the Copper Age Lasinja and Vučedol cultures, a Late Bronze and Early Iron Age settlement, and Early Medieval burials. The Early Medieval finds, including graves and valuable metal objects, are significant for studying Croatia’s earliest history in the country’s continental region. The hill is now wooded and lies beside a quarrying area, so it is better suited to a visit after checking access arrangements than to an unplanned walk around the site.
