About
City Museum Bjelovar was founded on 25 August 1949, initially as a regional museum assembled from private collections held by Bjelovar collectors; it adopted its present name in 1954. It occupies the former 1831 town hall at Trg Eugena Kvaternika 1, in the historic core. Its departments cover archaeology, ethnology, history, cultural history and gallery work, alongside a library and changing exhibitions. While a permanent display is being prepared, the exhibition and event programme still makes the museum an excellent starting point for understanding Bjelovar.
